Third Creek Greenway

The 5.3 mile Third Creek Greenway is a part of an 18 mile greenway system that is moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Knoxville, Tennessee. The trail features a river and is good for all skill levels.

History buffs and Civil War enthusiasts can search for Fort Redan, discovered recently by local archeologists. During the Civil War in 1863, Union soldiers built a small fort near the railroad that now runs through Third Creek Greenway off of Sutherland Ave. The fort was meant to defend the railroad as it went through downtown before turning south towards Chattanooga.

The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash
