Spring has officially arrived in the Great Smoky Mountains, and with it comes a massive wave of upgrades at one of Gatlinburg’s most iconic destinations: Anakeesta.

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Tribal Council has taken a “significant step forward” to renaming Clingmans Dome, according to a statement released by the tribe. The Tribal Council voted unanimously on a resolution to approve the submittal of an application to change the name of Clingmans Dome to “Kuwohi” on January 4.

It really is the most wonderful time of the year. And no better way to celebrate the holiday season than a parade in Gatlinburg Tennessee. The 49th annual Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade kicked off on December 1st down the parkway and viewed by thousands of families from across the U.S.

The Mountain Life Festival will return to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for the first time in three years, according to a release from the park.
